Are all types of counselling services confidential?

Yes. Counselling is confidential within professional and legal limits. Reports are only provided with informed consent or when legally required.

Will the counsellor write a letter for court?

Attendance confirmation, progress summaries, or completion letters may be provided when clinically appropriate and within ethical guidelines.

Do you work with probation or lawyers?

Yes. With client consent, Oak Therapy can coordinate with probation officers, lawyers, or case managers.

How long does court-ordered counselling take?

Duration depends on court requirements and individual clinical needs. This may range from several sessions to longer-term counselling.

Is it possible to reschedule or cancel?

You can reschedule or cancel your appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice via phone call or text /WhatsApp at +1 905-966-2211; a fee will apply for cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Can I receive a receipt for my order?

Extended Benefits Covered Services

Extended Benefits Covered Service allows eligible clients to access counselling through their workplace or private insurance plans. We provide professional mental health services that may be reimbursed under extended health benefits. Receipts and documentation are issued to support insurance claims, making therapy more accessible and financially manageable.





Court-Ordered Counselling Services

We provide structured, professional support to individuals who are required to attend therapy as part of a legal process. Programs may include anger management, substance use education, or behavioral intervention. We offer clear documentation, attendance reports, and progress summaries as required by the court. Our approach remains respectful, goal-oriented, and focused on meaningful personal change while meeting legal obligations.

MVA

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Counselling provides psychological support for individuals recovering from car accidents. Counselling session will be focused on managing trauma symptoms, anxiety, chronic pain-related stress, sleep disturbances, and emotional adjustment. We work collaboratively to improve coping skills and support functional recovery. Treatment plans and documentation will be provided to assist with insurance claims and rehabilitation processes accordingly.





IFHP

We provide mental health counselling service for individuals eligible under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). The services may be fully covered for approved clients. We offer culturally sensitive, trauma-informed counselling to address stress, adjustment, loss, and trauma. Documentation and direct billing will be provided according to IFHP guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to change my date?

Absolutely, as long as you provide us with a minimum of 24 hours notice, you can adjust your date up to two times without any additional charges. However, We will try our best to cooperate with your requests.

Tell me more about your cancellation policy.

If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it is scheduled to take place, we will not refund your deposit. To avoid a cancellation fee, please provide cancellation notice at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

How does the billing process work?

To secure your booking, we request a 35% down payment with the remaining 65% to be paid 24 hours prior to your event.
